afforded by the ocean—

as I am standing at the edge

watching a wave come towards me—

passing over and under my feet

returning to the sea—

the sand beneath me shifts

I dig my heels in a little bit—

waiting for the ground to settle

there is a rest—

how easily I might be embraced by her

if I let go—
